大肠和直肠癌是老年人的好发疾病。年龄每增长10岁,发病率增高一倍,75～80岁达高峰,其死亡率在英国居癌症死亡率的第二位。
Large intestine and rectal cancer are common diseases in the elderly. For every 10 years of age, the incidence rate has doubled, peaked between 75 and 80 years of age, and its mortality rate ranks second in the UK for cancer mortality.
