陈香梅女士是一位著名的美籍华人,颇具影响的国际社会活动家、记者、作家。她身居海外,心系中华,为了推进中国现代化建设事业,长期致力于中美关系改善和海峡两岸的交流与合作。近十多年来,她往返于中美之间,穿梭于海峡两岸,奔波于祖国各地,以炽热的民族责任感,关心着祖国的统一和发展,为我国改革开放和经济建设做出了卓越的贡献,深为国人钦佩。 她虽已年届七旬,但依然是风韵犹存,雍容华贵。她十分健谈,而且谈之有情,谈之有物,谈之有理,充分显示了她的知识渊博,才思敏捷。陈香梅女士爱下基层,接触群众,每到之处,她热悄洋溢,即席演讲,即兴挥毫,她下笔轻捷,心想笔至,一气呵成,潇洒自如。她的才华出众,使在场的人无不为之惊讶,感叹不已。有一次,互相的倾心聚谈,激起她的殷殷爱国之情,她会当场引吭高歌一曲“满江红”。
Ms. Chen Hongmei is a famous American Chinese, influential international social activist, reporter and writer. She lives overseas and is deeply rooted in China. In order to promote the cause of China’s modernization, she has long devoted herself to the improvement of Sino-U.S. Relations and exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait. In the past decade and more, she has been traveling between China and the United States, shuttling across the Taiwan Strait and rushing around the motherland. She has taken great care of the unification and development of the motherland with a burning national responsibility and has made remarkable achievements in reform, opening up and economic construction in our country.
