近年来,无锡市贯彻实施最严格的水资源管理制度,积极探索水资源节约利用的新技术和新方法,多措并举,全力推进节水型社会建设,突出水资源节约利用。积极推进水资源节约利用立法。2013年推动市人大制定出台了《无锡市水资源节约利用条例》(自2014年1月1日起施行),以水资源节约利用为核心推动水资源管理;还先后制定实施了《无锡市城市节约用水管理办法》、《无锡市饮用水源保护办法》、《无锡市河道管理实施细则》等
