One day in the autumn of 1989, Zhang Likui, carrying a large bag of paintings and luggage, came to the People’s Liberation Army Academy of Art from a small camp yard in the northeast ravine. Naturally, he became my student. When I first entered school, I heard that when he was young, his brush was made by himself. The template and teacher were the murals on the remnants of the temple in front of the gate. The paper was the brick on the ground and the third year after enlisting the army Rice paper can be painted. I think the immediate future of this rural child may be a promising student, because he has a difficult childhood, hard-working spirit of study and hard-working learning perseverance.
