结缘白描从接触到中国传统绘画开始,我就知道线是必须要把握的艺术语言。线是什么?本质是什么?线有历史吗?这样的问题,我这个学油画的人在很长时间里没有关注过。1982年中国美术家协会在山西大同举办会员读书会期间,我在云冈石窟、上下华严寺学习、研究古代雕刻艺术,我在华严寺看到了优秀的辽代建筑中的泥塑。那些雕塑,风格典雅,气质高贵。原本是各类佛像雕塑,可我看到的却是用线条组成的艺术作品,塑像形体与线条奇妙地结合在一起,线条的力量异乎寻常地膨胀出来,激荡着我的心灵,我立即用四尺宣纸画了一张《鬼子母》塑像写生。我不是描摹塑像的形态,而是如实地把塑像身上所有的线条一一勾画下来,画完了一看,
