1980年7月22日,邓小平视察二汽2。当时陪同邓小平视察的有湖北省委第一书记陈丕显,还有正在二汽考察的河南省委第一书记段君毅、第二书记胡立教等同志。前一天,省委领导转达首长提出的要求:只要两位企业领导同志陪同,希望有年轻干部,只用一辆面包车接送,不要前呼后拥,不要照相,不准吃饭。党委研究由我和副厂长的王兆国,全程接待邓小平。二汽的各个分厂分散建设在十几个山沟口附近的小盆地上。邓小平一边视察、一边听汇报,向我们做了许多重要指示。
