In 1601, after untiring efforts, Italian missionary Ricci finally met the Chinese emperor. He brought in two pieces of the favorable weight he thought would fascinate the Emperor - the Western newspaper. Although China had long had its own timer, in the ensuing years, the Chinese still started the production of watches with Chinese characteristics. The introduction and production of clocks in China not only represents a revolutionary method of timekeeping, but the chic watches made in China add even more excitement to the art of world clock and watch manufacturing.
