目前在划分地化相上,铁还原系数起着重要的作用。但如何应用铁还原系数还有许多争论:石油科学院和局综合队等认为K值(Fe_(HCl)~(++)×0.236+Fe_(FeS_2)~(++)/ΣFe)是划分地化相的主要指标;三队何志高同志提出了新的铁还原系数——X_(Fe);中心室提出了另一新铁还原系数——T;二队实验室及刘永祯同志则认为应该用Fe_(HCl)~(++)×0.25的铁还原系数。
