It has had a major impact on the style of Standard English and the growth of a large group of English writers, and permeates every corner as a cultural influence. Both Catholics, Puritans and non-religious English writers have chosen to refer to it as a “literary” Bible. Therefore, it is regarded as the foundational text in British literature.
