在吉林省南部无古宇石英岩的人工重砂样品中发现磁性铁质微球粒首批44粒,具有陨石消融型宇宙尘的典型特征.一般特征 微球粒的粒度,最小粒径0.01mm,最大粒径2.35mm,一般粒径0.2~0.3mm.微球粒的形貌可分为:(1)圆球体,较普遍;(2)椭球体,包括椭球体、纺缍体、卵圆体、葫芦形和水滴形等;(3)连球体,较常见;(4)扭曲体;(5)不规则碎片或残缺球粒微球粒表面普遍被熔壳包裹,黝黑色至灰黑色,部分球粒呈棕黄色,风化表面呈褐红色粉末,有的局部附着琥珀黄色橄榄石,熔壳表面一般比较平整,有的具乳头状排气孔,有的具扭曲纹,有不少微球粒熔壳局部脱落,露出壳层结构,第二层表面具金属光泽.微球粒不透明,强磁性,熔壳呈暗淡光泽,双连球具磁极性.微球粒的硬度大于玻璃.
