基因资源的概念和意义基因资源,或称遗传资源或种质资源,是指决定动植物各种性状的核内和核外基因的总和。在现代育种中,基因资源就是指育种的原始材料。这是由于动、植物性状都是由基因控制的,现代遗传学发展和证实了基因的物质基础。动、植物的杂交育种就是通过人工杂交和选择,把双亲的不同基因组合在一个新个体上,而形成新品种(系)。为了达到这个目的,必须搜集分别具有各种不同基因的亲本作为原始材料。
