截止1978年,霍姆斯特克金矿一直采用传统的上向梯段水平分层充填法、留矿法、方框支柱法。但是,高成本、低效率、安全性差的现实,迫使该矿寻求一种“大量开采”技术,作为矿山的主要采矿方法.深孔矿一直很有成效,但其采准工作量非常大,采准时间满足不了产量增长的要求,因此选择了 VCR 法.目前该矿用此法生产的矿石量,占总产量的50%以上。VCR 法的应用历史,成败得失在矿内有了讨论.
As of 1978, the Homestake gold mine has been using the traditional up-to-ladder level filling method, leaving the mining method, box pillar method.
