广州教育学院原名广州市教师进修学院,创办于1953年9月,院址在西湖路。当时是根据中央教育部关于提高在职中学教师的指示精神,为了提高未达高等师范专科程度的在职中学教师的政治、业务水平而开办的。三十年来,随着教育事业的发展,学院的任务规模不断扩大。1964年由西湖路迁至起义路。文化革命期
Guangzhou Institute of Education formerly known as Guangzhou Teachers College, was founded in September 1953, the site in the West Lake Road. At that time, according to the instructions of the Central Ministry of Education on improving serving teachers in secondary schools, it was launched to raise the political and professional level of teachers in serving secondary schools which did not reach the level of higher normal education. In the past 30 years, with the development of education, the college’s mission has been continuously expanded. From West Lake Road in 1964 moved to the uprising road. Cultural Revolution period
