1945年,由叶培忠教授鉴定的产于天水县李子园林区的天水葛藤(Puerariathunbergiana),经天水水保站试种,较西南各省引种之葛藤耐寒抗旱,1948年寄往美国Beltsville试种,能在-50°F低温下安全越冬,生长优良,列为美国之推广良种。《葛藤—大地之医生》一文为叶培忠教授于此期所写之论文,曾汇编于1942—1980年水土保持试验研究成果(第二集)中,尚未见公开发表。1984年10月为叶培忠教授逝世6周年,重新发表此文章,作为对前辈的纪念。
