新中国成立后,陈毅先任上海市市长,后调北京担任国务院副总理兼外交部长,可他对新中国电影事业给予了热情关注。人们称赞他像辛勤的园丁那样对待文艺创作,既精心培植,又热情灌溉,从播种、发芽、拔节到扬花、结籽,他都付出了无数心血。每一个硕果上都浸润着他的汗水,都闪耀着他的阳光雨露。
After the founding of New China, Chen Yi served as mayor of Shanghai and later transferred Beijing as the vice premier and minister of foreign affairs of the State Council. However, he paid warm attention to the cause of new Chinese film industry. He praised him for his hard work as a gardener for literary and artistic creation. He nurtured and enthusiastically irrigated him. He devoted countless efforts in sowing, sprouting, jointing to blooming and planting seeds. Every fruit flooded with his sweat, all shining his sun and rain.
