牺盟会是在中国共产党抗日民族统一战线政策的影响和推动下,在山西组建的抗日群众团体,全称为“山西牺牲救国同盟会”。山西青年抗敌决死队则是由牺盟会组织的一支抗日武装,又称“新军”,以区别于阎锡山的旧军队。薄一波为改组牺盟会、组建山西青年抗敌决死队,做出了杰出贡献。1943年11月,毛泽东在延安夸奖薄一波说:“你们以少数人团结了多数人,取得了胜利,这是我们党统一战线政策的一个成功的例证。”
Under the influence and promotion of the policy of the Chinese Communist Party in the Anti-Japanese National United Front, the sacrificial alliance formed a group of anti-Japanese masses in Shanxi and called it the “Shanxi Sacrifice Salvation Alliance”. Shanxi Youth Anti-Daredevil Team is an anti-Japanese armed group organized by the Sacrificial Alliance, also known as the “new army,” as distinguished from Yan Xishan’s old army. Bo Yibo for the reorganization of the sacrificial union, the formation of Shanxi youth dare to death team, made outstanding contributions. In November 1943, Mao Zedong praised Bo Yibo in Yanan saying: “You have united the majority with the few and won. This is a successful example of our party’s united front policy.”
