Thirty newborn infants treated with respirators were followed up. The average age at follow-up was 3.3 years, of which 2 died shortly after discharge and 75% of 28 survived recurrent respiratory infections. Twenty-two infants underwent chest radiography, of whom 3 had X-ray changes consistent with grade IV BPD. Twenty-six infants had a funduscopic examination and no post-crystallin fibrosis was found. Six of the 28 follow-up children had neurological sequelae, together with two deaths and a total of eight patients with a poor prognosis, accounting for 26.6%. All 8 patients had hospitalized during the occurrence of nerve damage may have caused the disease changes, and the use of respirator time, maximum inspiratory pressure and oxygen concentration has nothing to do.
