笔者认识胡士华已有十多年了。那时他在五楼的文联上班,我在二楼的图书馆工作,他常到图书馆里来看书看报。当我得知他就是在全国第一个报道“白条新闻”的作者时,立刻对他刮目相看。我想,一个对农民对土地没有刻骨铭心的爱,一个没有非凡勇气的人,是不会冒这种风险的。我钦佩这样的人。这以后我和他有了来往,我的小屋子里也就常常响起他声若洪钟的声音。特别是说话说到激动的时候,他的声音大得我家的四壁和门窗都跟着共鸣震颤。粗壮的身材,朴素的衣着,再加上这特别宏亮的嗓门,不由得我一再在心里想:还是个庄稼汉!
