Objective To investigate the value of plasma BNP, IL-6 and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods The levels of plasma BNP, IL-6 and CRP in 85 patients with acute cerebral infarction and 80 healthy controls were detected by CMIA, ELISA and immunoturbidimetric assay respectively. Level test. Results The levels of BNP, IL-6 and CRP in patients with cerebral infarction were significantly higher than those in control group (P <0.01). There was a positive correlation between plasma BNP level and CRP level (r = 0.458, P <0.01). Conclusion The levels of BNP, IL-6 and CRP in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease (ACI) are significantly increased, suggesting that all three play an important role in the development of ACI.
