线条的运用可分为三类。一类是阴刻线,汉代的阴刻线既可以表达纹路也可以指代实物。阴刻线的这一特性在同一批石刻即霍去病墓石刻中有集中表现,石刻卧虎身上的阴刻线气韵贯通,随形体辗转而有序,在描绘虎纹的同时增添了石刻不少生气。而侧头奔跑的跃马身上的阴刻线同样精良,颈部三条平行的阴刻弧线用来指代缰绳,而不是用凸起的阳线去表现,颇有四两拨千斤之妙。第二类为形体占据空间的线,这类线在写意风格的墓俑中多有表现。第三类为礼仪场所所用的装饰性纹饰,线的概念在这个领域得到了拓宽,不仅仅是由无数点紧挨排列而成的线段,而且可以是辅助图像表意的工具。本文以河南三盘山出土汉代铜车饰为例,对汉代纹饰线条艺术进行了分析。
