In the article, “Lively Workplace,” published in the first issue of the Nursing Journal in 1955, the author regards nurse work as a profession that “burns itself and brightens others.” This is an erroneous argument based on the idea of religious gifts. In essence, it is a reflection of bourgeois idealism among nurses. We all know that in a class society everyone lives in a certain class position, and all kinds of thinking mark the class. Nursing workers, like other people, belong neither to this class nor to the class.
