我于1961年在东安市场旧书店花六毛钱买了一本陶孟和的《孟和文存》,是上海亚东图书馆1925年出版的。陶孟和原名履恭,天津人,祖籍浙江绍兴,1889年生。陶孟和曾留学英国,入伦敦经济学院,攻读社会学。民国初年陶孟和回国,任商务印书馆编辑,1914年入教北京大学,1918年任教授,并先后担任过文学院院长、哲学系主任、教务长。教书期间,陶孟和积极投入新文化运动,在《新青年》等刊物
In 1961 I spent six cents in the old bookstore in the market of Dongan to buy a copy of Meng and Wencun kept by Tao Menghe, which was published by Shanghai Yadong Library in 1925. Tao Meng and formerly known as Christine, Tianjin, ancestral home in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, born in 1889. Tao Menghe had studied in the United Kingdom, entered the London School of Economics, studying sociology. In the early years of the Republic of China, Tao Menghe returned to China and was editor of the Commercial Press. In 1914, he joined Peking University and was a professor in 1918. He served successively as dean of the Faculty of Arts, director of the Department of Philosophy and dean.
