海盐位于杭嘉湖平原,东濒杭州湾,距上海、杭州、苏州百余公里,全县陆地面积507.6平方公里,人口38.8万,辖8个镇、104个行政村。海盐历史悠久,置县于秦,因“海滨广斥,盐田相望”而得名。经过改革开放20多年的发展,海盐经济发展迅速,在中国农村综合实力百强县中排名第35位,2004年,全县生产总值实现140.5亿元,人均生产总值达到4655美元。
Haiyan is located in Hangjiahu Plain, east of Hangzhou Bay, away from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou hundred kilometers, the county land area of 507.6 square kilometers, population 388,000, administer 8 towns, 104 administrative villages. Haiyan has a long history, set County in Qin, due to “broad beachfront, Yantian across” named. After more than two decades of reform and opening up, Haiyan economy has developed rapidly and ranked 35th among the top 100 counties in China’s rural comprehensive strength. In 2004, the county’s GDP reached 14.05 billion yuan and its per capita GDP reached 4,655 U.S. dollars.
