Chomsky founded “conversion grammar ” set off a “Chomsky Revolution ” in linguistics. The revolution took place largely because of Chomsky’s introduction of philosophical thinking into linguistic research and the result of profound philosophical thinking of linguistic issues. His theory of language has profound philosophical significance.
