“中国近现代史纲要”的教学目标和任务是使大学生领会历史和人民怎样选择了马克思主义、中国共产党和社会主义道路。“中国近现代史纲要”上编的时间是从1840年至1919年,此时中国还没有进行“三个选择”。因此,如何进行“三个选择”的教学成为一个难点问题。为此,必须围绕中国半殖民地半封建社会的形成,中国社会各阶级、阶层探索失败的原因,分析阶级局限性、探索方向的错误和指导思想的缺陷等方面来讲授,为“三个选择”的教学作铺垫。
