黄荫普先生是香港知名学者,藏书家。他一生热爱祖国、关心乡邦文化。自1959年以来,一直担任中国人民政治协商会议广东省委员会委员。对海内外文化出版及教育事业贡献良多。新中国成立后,曾多次将自己毕生收藏的珍贵典籍赠送给广东省中山图书馆,堪称为学界风范,笔者在联系接受赠书事宜中,有幸认识黄老先生,他对人和善、彬彬有礼,留给晚辈深刻的印象。然而有关他的生平及赠书省馆之事鲜为人知,现将近年来所搜集到的资料加以整理,作粗略介绍于下:
Mr Wong Yin Pu is a renowned scholar and bibliophile in Hong Kong. He loves the motherland all his life, cares about the countryside culture. Since 1959, he has been a member of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Great contribution to the cause of cultural publishing and education at home and abroad. After the founding of new China, he repeatedly presented his precious collection of lifelong collections to the Zhongshan Library of Guangdong Province for his academic demeanor. When contacting and accepting donations, the author was fortunate enough to know Mr. Huang Lao, Courteous, left a deep impression on the younger generation. However, little is known about his life and donations to the provincial government. The information collected in recent years has been collated to give a rough introduction as follows:
