[Objective] To investigate the expression of survivin, matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and PTEN in bladder cancer and their correlation. [Method] The expressions of Survivin, MMP-9 and PTEN in 54 cases of bladder cancer and 15 cases of normal bladder tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. [Results] The positive expression rates of the three genes were 0, 0 and 15 in 15 normal bladder tissues respectively. There were significant differences in the positive expression of three genes in different clinical stages (P <0.05). The positive expression of three genes in different pathological grades had statistical significance (P <0.05). And there is a positive correlation between the three. [Conclusion] The abnormal expressions of Survivin, MMP-9 and PTEN are closely related to the occurrence and development of bladder cancer. Detecting the expression of Survivin, MMP-9 and PTEN in bladder cancer can be used as a useful index to judge the occurrence and development of bladder cancer.
