In the mid-19th century, the westward movement was vigorously launched in the United States. It is one of the most landmark events in the history of the United States, not only contributing to the rapid development of the United States, but further uniting the entire American nation. The Westward Movement has a tremendous impact on the formation and development of the unique cultural values of the United States, has strengthened American individualism, developed the democratic awareness of politics and society in the United States, and gave birth to the pragmatism philosophy.
