On the understanding of the new normalcy of the Chinese economy and its prospects for the future, a few days ago, Lord Adair Turner, a senior fellow at the Institute of New Economic Thinking in Britain and a former chairman of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, made his comments. He believes that China’s economic volume is so large that its transition to middle and high-income countries can not simply be achieved through exports. Therefore, as emphasized by the Chinese government, the Chinese economy must further balance its internal structure and shift more economic growth into consumption-driven.
