BACKGROUND: Tumor recurrence is the process by which remnant tumor cells proliferate and proliferate into lesions. In this process, some genes may play an important regulatory role. Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expression of E-cadherin, CD44H and VEGF and the relapse and rehabilitation of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and to explore the ways to promote rehabilitation. Design: Based on diagnosis, standard cross-sectional cross-sectional retrospective study. Location and Subjects: This study was performed by otolaryngology-head and neck surgery department of Shantou Central Hospital. Sixty-two patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma undergoing primary nasopharyngeal carcinoma radiotherapy from March to October 1995 were selected, aged 17-70 years. Methods: Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expression of E-cadherin, CD44H and VEGF in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The cytoplasm or cell membrane yellow stain positive mark, using semi-quantitative determination of the results. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Expression intensity of E-cadherin, CD44H and VEGF in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Results: The expression of E-cadherin (52.4%) and the expression of CD44H and VEGF in nasopharyngeal carcinoma recurrence group (85.7% and 80.9%, respectively) were significantly lower than those in non-recurrence group The positive expression rates of CD44H and VEGF were 85.4%, 65.9%, 73.2% respectively in the two groups (P <0.05, P <0.01, P <0.01) The expression in the group had a positive correlation (r = 0.535, P <0.05). Conclusion: The expressions of E-cadherin, CD44H and VEGF are closely related to the recurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy. CD44H and VEGF have a synergistic effect. They can be used as biomarkers to evaluate the risk of recurrence, and can predict the prognosis of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy Effect.
