当代艺术早已不再只承担着提供一种美学欣赏的功能,但这也并非提倡一个艺术家在做自己的作品时可以完全不去考虑形式。就唐晶而言,创作作品首先会考虑为什么要做这个,它反映了什么,哪些人来看等等。他将这些归为思想性的范畴;而在做的过程当中则会考虑用什么材料、形式、以何种方式呈现等等。形式美学在所有的艺术作品中都存在着,所以说如何平衡作品的思考性与艺术性,真的是一个很复杂的问题。二者谁先谁后,如何相辅相成,考虑好这些,在创作的路上或许就会和美丽新世界离得更近一些吧。
Contemporary art no longer only assumes the function of providing an aesthetic appreciation, but it does not advocate that an artist can completely ignore the form when making his own work. In the case of Tang Jing, the creative work will first consider why it should be done, what it reflects, and what people think about it.
