对琼东南从陆架到陆坡的33个表层样和1个柱状样的SiO_2、A l_2O_3分析、浮游有孔虫鉴定、δ~(18)O、δ~(13)C分析和~(14)C测年,结果表明,从陆架到陆坡SiO_2含量呈下降趋势,Al_2O_3含量变化较复杂,总体为“先升后降”,在外陆架-上陆坡最高。SiO_2与Al_2O_3的相关性在陆架和陆坡完全不同,在水深<150m的陆架区两者呈负相关关系,在水深>300 m的陆坡区,两者呈正相关,在150 300 m的过渡区,两者相关性不明显。陆坡区柱状样的SiO_2/Al_2O_3与浮游有孔虫转换函数计算的表层水温有明显相关,均在氧同位素1、3期高,2期较低,这反映了不同气候条件下,陆源物质的风化淋滤作用强度不同造成,因此SiO_2/Al_2O_3比值可能成为又一反映古气候特征的指标
