《我是一个兵》这首小歌,是我和岳仑作词、岳仑谱曲的。它产生于当时的中南军区、第四野战军,是在1950年夏天首次发表于《解放军画报》(1951年3月号)。 1950年夏,我与岳仑同在四野(原东北民主联军)46军137师文工队工作,他任二分队长,我任三分队长。驻军于风光秀丽的湘江之滨——湖南祁阳城。当时的历史特点主要有三:我国人民革命战争已取得决定性胜利;我中华人民共和国刚刚诞生;朝鲜半岛形势紧张,战争一触即发。
