New Culture Movement has been more than a century. When people today commemorate this great movement that initiated the transformation of modern Chinese cultural thoughts, they found that the background of the time has undergone a substantive change. In both real life and mainstream trends, the traditional Chinese culture thoroughly criticized for the new cultural movement is increasingly rejuvenating. The New Culture Movement is the Foe of the Chinese Revolution, and the Chinese Revolution is the Foundation of Modern China. When the traditional culture is back in the forefront of history as the value of our national subjectivity, the sharp question it brings is: How to understand the relationship between the Chinese revolution and the Chinese tradition? How to understand the centennial radical revolution characterized by anti-tradition? Relationship with the Great Historical Process of the National Rejuvenation in Contemporary China The relationship between traditional culture and Marxism and liberalism is a major proposition that can not be circumvented in the arduous task of reconstructing the contemporary ideology. In this regard, the ruling party, the ideological and cultural community as well as all walks of life have to seriously participate. To this end, our special issue takes the opportunity of “one hundred years of the New Culture Movement” as an opportunity to discuss the issues in “China’s Revolution and Chinese Civilization” and expects it to become an effective entry point for the reconstruction of China’s current ideology .
