郑玄注经,颇有引谶纬书处,后人有以为是郑玄之误者,有为郑玄做辩解者。然而,如果从儒家的发展历史来看,谶纬其实是儒家思想文化中的一个重要部分,随着儒家思想的不断完善,谶纬终被儒家抛弃,后世儒者,反以谶纬为非。但郑玄所处的时代,正是谶纬思想大放异彩且成为主流政治思想的时代,郑玄亦不能超越他所处的时代,况且谶纬中还有许多与文化与自然科学相关的內容可供我们认识世界借鉴,所以,郑玄对谶纬的热衷自无可厚非。
