6月18日,一个把二手交易、特种租赁业务移植到 Internet 上的电子商务网站www.lowa.com.cn(龙之娃网站)在京举行了测试版开通仪式,该网站引进了国际通行的第三方安全交易保证金方式,开通当日已经有2749个访问者光顾。LOWA(龙之娃)除提供第三方信用担保外,没有上网的单位和个人,可以通过各地的龙之娃声讯电话进行信息查询和发布。该网站也支持网络电子立即结算,但需收取4%的交易费。据悉,二手交易内容在国内很多网站中部已经成为热门内容:首都在线开设的二手货网页,到1998年底访问量已经达到12万人、占其总访问量的1/60,而且每五分钟就会有一个上网登录的供求信息。但据了解,该站点对成交情况并不关心。
