Coach Bob Bowman talks about the story of Michael Phelps growing up in South Carolina, where Bowman is president of the National Honor Society and the French Club. Bowman hopes to one day become a composer or conductor of classical music. As a accomplished musician, he can play piano, trombone and violin. When he entered Florida State University in Tallahassee, he specialized in music composition. He also received a bachelor’s degree in child psychology. He joined the college swimming team, but feel himself mediocre. Bowman soon discovered that what he really excels is what he likes to do: teach others to swim.
