伟大的共产主义战士,我们时代的英雄——王杰同志,英勇牺牲了。王杰同志战斗的一生,处处闪烁着毛泽东思想的光辉,洋溢着一心为革命奋斗到底的精神。我们所有的戏剧工作者,应认真地向王杰同志学习,活学活用毛主席著作,自觉地改造自己的思想,牢固地树立无产阶级世界观,做一个彻底革命化的文艺战士。大演革命现代戏以来,戏剧舞台上积极表现社会主义的新时代,歌颂工农兵英雄人物,这是文化史上空前未有的好现象。但是就整个文化革命的任务来看,我们目前所做的工作,只是社会主义文化革命的开端,是万里长征的第一步。我们应该通过学习王杰同志的热潮,进一步把王杰同志的革命精神发扬光大。使王杰同志这颗“革命的良种”在戏剧界每一个同志的思想上扎根发芽,开花结果。只有这样,才能使社会主义戏剧事

All of our theater workers should seriously study with Comrade Wang Jie, learn to use Chairman Mao’s works, consciously transform their own ideas, firmly establish a proletarian world outlook and be a thoroughly revolutionary literary and art warrior. Since the performance of the modern drama, the theater has actively demonstrated the new era of socialism and the heroines of the workers, peasants and soldiers. This is an unprecedented phenomenon in cultural history. However, judging from the task of the entire cultural revolution, what we are doing now is only the beginning of the socialist cultural revolution and the first step in the Long March. We should further promote the revolutionary spirit of Comrade Wang Jie by studying the upsurge of Comrade Wang Jie. So that Comrade Wang Jie’s “great seed of revolution” took root and germinated in the mindset of every comrade in the theater industry. Only in this way can we make socialist drama
