New drug research and development are necessary in any country and any time to maintain people’s health. Drugs according to their different sources, there are synthetic drugs, animal and plant drugs, bio-engineering drugs three major categories. Since the development of a synthetic drug generally takes 10-15 years, it costs at least US$200-200 million, and it cannot avoid the side effects of drugs. As a result, there is an international trend toward finding new drugs from traditional medicines. Chinese herbal medicine is rich in resources and it is an important treasure house for research and development of new drugs.
