He is prestigious and respected in the Russian music scene, but is rarely seen in many places outside of Russia. Mussin’s art career lasted nearly 70 years, during which he developed a complete and effective command teaching theory, focused on how to use gestures, movements, body language to convey the various elements of music and emotions, and music to establish internal contact. He has trained a number of excellent conductors, including Yuri Tamilkanov (music director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic), Valery Gildeyev (chief of the Mariinsky theater in St. Petersburg) Bieichkov (chief conductor of the Cologne Symphony Orchestra), and performed the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 92.
