第五届亚欧经济部长会议7月24日在辽宁大连举行,亚欧会议26方成员及各界代表250多人出席会议。涉及全球各贸易伙伴利益的WTO新一轮谈判自2001年11月启动以来进展缓慢,所有重要议题的谈判都没有取得预期的进展。今年9月,世贸组织第五届部长级会议将在墨西哥的坎昆举行,会议将评估谈判的中期进展情况。因此,有关新一轮谈判的议题成为本届亚欧经济部长会议讨论的主要内容之一。
The 5th ASEM Economic Ministers’ Meeting was held on July 24 in Dalian, Liaoning Province. 26 members of the ASEM and more than 250 representatives from all walks of life attended the meeting. Progress in the new round of WTO negotiations involving the interests of all trading partners around the world started in November 2001 has been slow and no progress has been made on the negotiation of all major issues. In September this year, the fifth WTO Ministerial Conference will be held in Cancun, Mexico. The conference will assess the medium-term progress of the negotiations. Therefore, the issue concerning the new round of negotiations has become one of the major topics for discussion at the current ASEM Economic Ministers’ Meeting.
