近几年来对建立组合机床和用这种机床组成的机床自动线问题予以极大的注意。在大量和大批生产中,采用组合机床代替万能机床,劳动生产率提高7~9倍(在一年内回收机床费用的条件下)。这种高指标是因为在组合机床上允许大量集中工序和机床价格较低,由于它是用通用化部件和零件所组成,这些通用部件占组合机床部件和零件总数的70~80%。组合机床最适宜使用于这样的工艺过程,就是加工时,被加工零件固定不动,而进给运动由刀具实现。在钻孔、扩孔、铰孔、粗镗和精镗、车端面、车各种轴颈外圆和倒角、成形镗削以及在各种铣削工序情况下广泛采用组合机床。苏联各工厂内有几千台这种机床在使用着,目前它的需要量大为增加。
