1999年11月26日至12月1日,由国家档案局组织的中国档案工作代表团对英国公共档案馆、大英图书馆,德国联邦档案馆、巴伐利亚州档案馆等有关档案部门进行了考察访问。我们有幸参加了这次访问,通过参观学习,我们感到这些档案馆都有自己的特色,而其共同点都是在馆库建筑、档案保管、开放利用、技术保护、科学管理的现代化、自动化程度和人员素质均具有较高的水平,其中英国公共档案馆是世界上档案工作做得最好、现代化程度最高的档案馆之一,给我们留下了深刻的印象,现将我们在该馆的所见所闻作一简要介绍。
