在封建年代,女性是不能涉足祠堂的,因此供奉女性的祠堂在各地并不多见。但事物都有特例,在潮汕的千祠万堂中就有三座以女人为主角的专祠。在今潮安龙湖寨有座宽大气派的祠堂——“婆祠”。该祠坐落在龙湖寨直街一侧,坐西向东,为潮汕传统的“四点金”建筑格局,占地500多平方米。门洞极阔,达10余米,也称“阔嘴祠”。门匾两侧各有两个石雕麒麟,造型生动威猛;
