她很平凡,是我国几亿农民中最普通的贫苦劳动妇女之一。她也非凡,上世纪五十年代初,她率先组织了全县第一个农业劳动互助组、全县第一个农业劳动初级合作社及全县第一个高级农业生产合作社,带领着全村百姓走上了合作富裕的路。为此先后14次荣获中央、省、地区和县颁发的农业劳动模范和农业学大寨先进生产者等称号和奖励。成为了上个世纪五六十年代云南地区家喻户晓的农村杰出妇女代表、著名农业劳动模范。她曾当选为一至三届和第五届全国人大代表。在全国人民代表大会会议期间,她先后13次幸福地见到伟大领袖毛主席。作为农业劳动模范的人大代表,毛主席三次与她亲切地握手。
