Objective: To study the relationship between the expression of CD44v and the invasion and metastasis of primary liver cancer. Methods: The expression of CD44vmRNA in 54 cases of primary liver cancer and its relationship with invasion and metastasis were analyzed by RT-PCR and postoperative follow-up. RESULTS: The positive expression of cD44vmRNA was found in 92.59% of the cases, among which 77.78% were moderate-highly expressed. Among the moderately-highly-expressed cases, the tumor invasion and metastasis, portal vein tumor thrombosis, and formation of nodal nodular satellite nodules were significantly higher than the negative-weakly expressed cases (P<0.001). . Follow-up reports were performed in 46 patients. The recurrence rate of CD44v mRNA in high-expressing patients (77.15%) was significantly higher than that of negative-faintly expressed patients (36.36%, P<0.025), while the survival rate of the former (25.71%). ) was significantly lower than the latter (77.78%) (P < 0.005). Conclusion: The expression of CD44v mRNA in primary liver cancer can reflect the invasion and metastasis potential of liver cancer.
