Dali Prefecture has 12 counties (cities) all of which are historic malaria areas. After years of antimalarial work, the average annual malaria incidence rate has decreased from 79.66/10,000 in the 1950s to 0.94/10,000 in the 1980s. From 1991 to 1996, endogenous reports were reported. There were 35 cases of malaria and 1338 cases of imported malaria. Imported malaria was caused by the flow of people, and it had a fast flow. It was geographically dispersed after returning to the local area. It brought great difficulties to the implementation of malaria prevention measures and case management. Since 1991, With health education as the guide, the awareness and ability of self-protection against malaria of the floating population were enhanced, and good results were achieved in managing imported malaria cases and implementing various malaria prevention measures.
