杨烈雄同志所著《文言翻译学》(中国经济出版社1989年8月第1版)是一部有探索意义的语言学论著。全书共六章,论述了建立文言翻译学的目的意义,文言翻译学的特点和任务,文言翻译的定义和原则,文言翻译的基本方法和基本规律,诗歌、散文、词赋的翻译,文言翻译的质量标准和翻译心理等问题。正如詹伯慧先生在序言中所说的:长期以来高等院校关于文言翻译问题的著述是凤毛麟角,此书作为一项草创性的探索,第一次把文言文的翻译作为一门学科来进行系统的研究,这是值得肯定的。读了烈雄同志此书,在以下方面尤其受益良深。
