With the return of the Panama Canal, the cloud of overwhelming U.S. hegemony over Latin America was further pulled away and the sky in Latin America was more sunny. For the Latin American countries, the 20th century was a special one for the countries of the rest of the world and it was a cloud that completely lashed out over the hegemony of the United States
