野生大豆(Glycine soja)是栽培大大豆(Glycine mxa)的近缘野生植物,半野生大豆(Glycine gracilic)介于野生大豆和栽培大豆之间。野生大豆经长期自然选择作用,对某一特定的环境条件有较强的适应性。许多野生大豆籽粒中蛋白质含量及氨基酸中某些成份的含量较高。因而,近年来被认为是大豆育种的重要种质资源。1956年锦州市农科所以半野生大豆熊岳小粒黄与栽培大豆丰地黄杂交,从其后代中选出结荚密集,丰产性好,抗病的5621品系材料,再利用做亲本,先后育成了铁丰9号、铁丰10号、铁丰18号、铁丰19号、铁丰20号新品种。其中铁丰18号在省内外推广500多万亩,其增产潜力可达500斤/亩以上。此外,
